Isreal Ayobami Onifade

Isreal Ayobami Onifade is a dedicated public health and biomedical research professional with multidisciplinary expertise in molecular biology, microbiology, bioinformatics, and epidemiology. He currently serves as a Program Research Specialist II at Health Research Inc., New York State Department of Health, where he contributes to research and data evaluation within the Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) program. His work supports state-level efforts to reduce loss to follow-up/documentation in newborn hearing screening, enhancing health outcomes for infants who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Isreal holds a Master of Science in Biology with a concentration in Molecular, Cellular, Developmental, and Neural Biology from the University at Albany, SUNY, and a B.Tech in Microbiology from the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Nigeria. He has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, including review and original research articles spanning infectious disease diagnostics, antimicrobial resistance, neurodegenerative diseases, and environmental health.
With a strong passion for translational research and public service, Isreal is committed to applying scientific innovation to address real-world public health challenges. His international training and cross-sector collaborations reflect a vision centered on data-driven policy, global health equity, and sustainable development. He is also actively engaged in mentoring, community health education, and professional development initiatives that empower the next generation of scientists.
