Currently serving as a Senior Lecturer and Acting Head of the Department of Biochemistry, Hallmark University, Ijebu-Itele, Nigeria, I have demonstrated exceptional commitment to advancing scientific knowledge in biochemistry, molecular biology, and toxicology.
Dr. Ige Joseph Komolafe holds a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Biochemistry from Obafemi Awolowo University, with research focuses on the biochemical mechanisms and toxicological effects of plant-based compounds in 2019 and 2014 respectively. My scientific contributions span natural product pharmacology, nephrotoxicity, neurotoxicity, antioxidant mechanisms, and inflammation, as evidenced by numerous peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations. I obtained B.Sc. in Biochemistry at University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria in 2010.
His research expertise includes biochemical and phytochemical profiling, molecular pathway elucidation, in vivo and in vitro toxicology models, and advanced statistical analysis. My current research investigates the anti-inflammatory potential of Petiveria alliacea, at molecular level including molecular docking.
As a lecturer I teach Biochemistry courses at all levels. He has supervised over a dozen undergraduate thesis projects, guided curriculum development initiatives, and served in several administrative roles, including Departmental Chairman of Curriculum Development and a member of the Senate Curriculum Committee, as well as the conference and staff cooperative audit committee.
