Rita Chukwu is a dynamic global health researcher and public health scholar with a strong commitment to advancing adolescent and young adult health. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in public health at Purdue University, USA. Her current work involves global research projects across the United States, the Caribbean, and Nigeria, focusing on preventing risky health behaviors, promoting mental health, advancing social epidemiology, and strengthening environmental health and safety practices. Before joining Purdue University, Rita built a solid academic and professional foundation at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), Nigeria, where she served as a lecturer and an environmental health consultant. She is a recipient of multiple fellowships and scholarships from Nigeria and the United States. Her trajectory is a testament to resilience, strategic planning, and passion-driven purpose. Rita’s commitment extends to consultancy and community impact. She has served as an environmental health consultant to various governmental and non-governmental organizations, collaborated with the World Health Organization on immunization, maternal and child health, and COVID-19 interventions, and contributed to policy-relevant research on health behaviors. To her credit, Rita has published scholarly articles in both local and international journals, where she continues to advance health knowledge and champion innovation, equity, and scientific excellence in STEM and public health.
