Dr Omobolaji O. Adeyinka Olusanya is a doctoral researcher in Environmental Science at Oklahoma State University, specializing in the intersection of groundwater sustainability, agricultural resilience, and energy development in the U.S. Southern Great Plains. His work addresses critical challenges at the food-energy-water nexus, focusing on how hydraulic fracturing impacts groundwater availability and long-term food and water security. Using advanced geospatial analysis, remote sensing, and metacoupling frameworks, he tracks and models aquifer water storage changes, maps environmental trade-offs, and identifies policy gaps that threaten both ecosystems and agricultural livelihoods.

In Nigeria, Adeyinka Olusanya played an active role in environmental contract projects focused on city development and natural resource management. While serving with the Oyo State Ministry of Environment, he contributed to the monitoring and evaluation of environmental projects, development of environmental management plans, and assessment of waste management practices. He also supported the World Bank–funded NEWMAP initiative by leading land cover change analyses and coordinating community-led agroforestry efforts. Olufemi Akintunde is a Senior Musculoskeletal physiotherapist of about 10years presently working in the NHS England, I have seen firsthand how physiotherapy through interventions like exercises, manipulation, patient education help in the treatment of injury, disease, disorders and optimisation of physical performances. I hold a bachelor’s degree in physiotherapy from Obafemi Awolowo University and currently doing my Doctor of Physical Therapy in Arcadia University in the USA. I believe there are many ways that physiotherapists can participate in global health work beyond direct patient care, aside helping patients recover from injury, reduce pain, stiffness and increase mobility, physiotherapy also plays a big role in the preventive aspect of health care and maintenance of quality of functionalities in people of all ages. My research focuses on Age related degenerative diseases of the brain especially Alzheimer's disease and related dementia (ADRD). I have also conducted research in bacterial infections and prion diseases, a debilitating and fatal neurodegenerative disease that affects people between 6th-7th decade of life. During my PhD, l used molecular and cell biology techniques to investigate the combinational effects of Type 2 Diabetes (T2D) and post-translationally modified amyloid beta species in the progression and pathophysiology of AD, a debilitating neurodegenerative disease. I also provided insights on the combined effects of diet and modified amyloid beta peptides in the pathophysiology of this most common cause of dementia. Furthermore, I assessed the neuroprotective effects of astaxanthin, a flavonoid compound in ameliorating these effects. I am interested in translating life science skills into solving real life problems relating to microbial infections, aging, metabolic dysfunctions and neurodegenerative diseases. Aside these, l advocates for inclusive science and lifestyle changes. My educational background includes an MSc. in Medical Microbiology from Hallym University, South Korea and a PhD. in Human Medicine from Medical University of Graz, Austria. I also hold a BSc. in Microbiology from Ekiti State University, Nigeria. As a Microbiologist and neuroscientist with over 12 years of experience in basic and translational research, I am uniquely trained in the use of cutting-edge molecular techniques. I am proficient in in vitro and in vivo based bio-assays. I have also done some spatial analysis and mapping projects that determined the High Consequence Areas (HCA) around Pipeline Infrastructures within urban and rural areas of Texas, using the PHMSA Classification as a guide. Mapped out storm surge areas along coastal perimeters to determine hazard areas according to their risk levels, using LiDAR and DEM data. Urban change detection analysis and mapping using ERDAS Imagine and ArcGIS Pro software, is one of my niche areas. Used machine learning techniques to identify patterns and trends that are often invisible to humans, leading to better predictions and insights.   I have recently co-authored and published two peer-reviewed Journal Articles (renewables - on switchgrass bioenergy).

  Farouq Adeola Busari is a Doctoral Researcher in Chemistry and Biochemistry at Auburn University, where he advances structural and mechanistic studies of human deiodinase enzymes. His work integrates protein engineering, artificial intelligence–guided structure prediction, and X-ray absorption spectroscopy to create experimentally accessible models of these membrane-bound, hormone-regulating proteins. His goal is to clarify how deiodinases function at the molecular level and to support next-generation diagnostics and therapeutic strategies for endocrine and metabolic disorders. Farouq earned his Master of Science degree in Organic Chemistry from the University of Ibadan and his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Chemistry from Olabisi Onabanjo University. Before beginning his doctoral studies, he contributed to computational drug discovery efforts at the Institute for Scientific Innovation and Industrial Development (ISIID) and supported molecular diagnostics and antimalarial research at the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research. He also gained early experience in organic synthesis, medicinal chemistry, and student mentorship during his undergraduate and master's research training. Seun has contributed to research on CO₂ sink potential in the Canary Islands, sustainable transport futures for island communities (in Greece, Iceland, and the Netherlands), and geospatial approaches to reconstructing lost plant communities. His publications span forest ecology, renewable energy, and environmental assessment. His works have been accepted in several international conferences, including the Society of American Foresters Conference (United States of America, 2024), the Clean Energy for EU Islands Forum (Italy, 2024), and the 2nd African Forum on Urban Forests (South Africa, 2025). Beyond research, Seun is engaged in community development, environmental stewardship, and youth advocacy. As a long-standing volunteer with the Edenworld Initiative, he has supported tree-planting campaigns that have contributed to the planting of over 5,000 trees. Kelechi Eluigwe is a dementia researcher, applied psychologist, and community practitioner whose work sits at the intersection of STEM innovation, applied psychology, public health, and policy engagement. She holds two Master’s degrees in Health Psychology and Managerial Psychology, with a strong academic and practical focus on improving outcomes for people living with dementia and their carers through evidence-based, culturally responsive, and scalable approaches. Her research focuses on dementia care, neuropsychiatric symptoms, comorbidity management, and the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning in the early detection and prediction of Alzheimer’s disease. She is the first and corresponding author on multiple peer-reviewed publications and has collaborated with international researchers across the UK, Europe, and the United States. Her work demonstrates a clear trajectory that integrates psychological science, digital innovation, and real-world care delivery. Kelechi has contributed to national and international knowledge exchange through conference presentations, including the Alzheimer’s Research UK Conference in Manchester and the Alzheimer’s Disease International Conference in France. Dr Obianuju Akujuobi is an exceptional medical doctor with over 15 years of multidisciplinary clinical, academic, and community-based experience spanning psychiatry, addiction services, radiology, public health, and counseling psychology/psychotherapy. She holds an MBBS in medicine and surgery from University of Nigeria and a master’s degree in counselling psychology from Yorkville University Canada, enabling an integrated, evidence-based approach that combines psychotherapy with psychopharmacology in patient care. Her clinical expertise includes the evaluation and treatment of severe mental illnesses, opioid and polysubstance use disorders, mental health crisis intervention, and substance abuse medication-assisted treatment (MAT), including advanced buprenorphine induction strategies for Opioid use disorder. She has extensive experience delivering care across inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and community settings, with a strong focus on underserved and high-risk populations. She worked with the Canadian Red cross during the COVID pandemic where she was deployed to multiple rural and underserved communities. In addition to psychiatry, she has formal postgraduate training in radiology, with proficiency in advanced cancer neuroimaging, breast imaging, ultrasound, CAT scans, and MRI interpretation, as well as radiology interventional procedures. Dr. Akujuobi is actively involved in medical education and research. She serves as an Adjunct Clinical Instructor to LECOM medical school, which is one of the largest medical schools in the US. She also mentors medical students and residents and delivers addiction medicine and mental health lectures within large healthcare systems. Her research portfolio includes multiple peer-reviewed publications with a focus on mental health, cancer imaging and chronic disease outcomes in low-resource settings. Committed to equity, service, and innovation, Dr. Akujuobi is also a co-founder of a nonprofit organization that provides medical, mental health, and addiction services to underserved communities in Nigeria.
