Dr Omobolaji O. Afolabi is a highly skilled environmental scientist and researcher with over a decade of experience in natural resource management, environmental impact assessment (EIA), and ecological risk analysis. He holds a Ph.D. in Natural Resources and Environmental Management from the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria, where he conducted ground-breaking research on emerging contaminants in the Nigerian aquatic environment. His other research interests span aquatic and terrestrial toxicology, emerging pollutants, and environmental policy.

Dr Omobolaji has demonstrated exceptional analytical and technical skills through various professional engagements, including working as an Assistant National Consultant for the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), where he contributed to developing the National Strategy for Disaster Risk Reduction and coordinated stakeholder workshops. He also served as an Assistant Ecologist for the Rivers State Government, leading biodiversity assessments and mitigation planning for the Ahoada-Omoku Road dualization project.

An accomplished researcher, Dr Omobolaji has published numerous peer-reviewed articles in reputable international journals on topics such as groundwater contamination, flood vulnerability assessment, and ecotoxicological risk evaluation. His work has also been presented at prestigious conferences, including the SETAC Europe Annual Meeting, reflecting his commitment to advancing environmental science and sustainable management practices.

Proficient in statistical data analysis and environmental modelling, Dr Omobolaji is adept at using tools like SPSS, STATA, and E-View. His strong communication and leadership skills are evidenced by his experience supervising research projects and mentoring students.
