Dr. Cynthia Victor-Oji is an accomplished industrial and petroleum chemist with a strong focus on sustainable and green chemistry innovations. She holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria, and is pursuing a second Ph.D. in Chemistry and Forest Biomaterials at North Carolina State University, USA. With over a decade of academic and research experience, Dr. Victor-Oji has made significant contributions to the development of eco-friendly oilfield chemicals derived from renewable biomass.
She has served as a lecturer, research leader, and mentor, supervising students across undergraduate and doctoral levels. Her work has yielded several peer-reviewed publications, patents, and funded projects, including support from the Regional Scholarship and Innovation Fund (RSIF). Dr. Victor-Oji is an active member of various professional bodies, including the Chemical Society of Nigeria (CSN), Institute of Chartered Chemists of Nigeria (ICCON), American Chemical Society (ACS), and OWSD, and is a strong advocate for women in STEM.
Her expertise spans biomaterials, petrochemical innovation, environmental chemistry, and technology transfer. Dr. Victor-Oji is passionate about sustainable development and is committed to advancing STEM excellence and innovation across Africa and the global scientific community.
