Mathew Alaba is a distinguished data scientist with over 7 years of expertise spanning bioinformatics, computational biology, and clinical data analysis. His interdisciplinary academic foundation combines biochemistry, public health, and biomedical engineering, giving him a unique perspective on complex biomedical challenges.

Currently a Bioinformatician/Computational Biologist at the University of Michigan Medical School, Mathew collaborates with leading scientific networks, including NEPTUNE, RPC2, and KPMP, to transform kidney disease research through innovative computational methods and large-scale data integration. His pioneering work in matrix factorisation frameworks has identified potential therapeutic targets for FSGS patients, while his data visualization tools have accelerated disease biomarker discovery.

Mathew’s research contributions have secured NIH grant funding and resulted in multiple peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations. Beyond his research, he demonstrates leadership as a Co-Founder and director at dataxpression.com, where he mentors and teaches R programming and bioinformatics.
