Mayowa George is a fire safety expert and passionate advocate for wildfire prevention and environmental sustainability. He is currently a Graduate Research Assistant in the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering at Kansas State University, where his research focuses on wildfire prevention, developing fire danger indices, modeling dead fuel moisture content, modeling grass curing, and applying machine learning methods in fire ecology to support safer and more efficient prescribed fire practices in grassland ecosystems.

Mayowa is a well-established firefighter and fire advocate who has been at the forefront of fighting and preventing wildfires, especially in vulnerable rural communities. He has distinguished himself as a leader in fire ecology research and public fire safety education. His work addresses critical challenges at the intersection of wildfire risk, climate change, rural livelihoods, and natural resource management.

His work contributes to the development of practical tools and strategies that enhance fire preparedness, early warning systems, and resilience in vulnerable communities. Through interdisciplinary research and public engagement, he is committed to ensuring that science and data empower real-world fire management and policy decisions.
