Olanrewaju E. Adeyemi
Experience & Activities
Olanrewaju Adeyemi is an emerging leader in agricultural science with interdisciplinary expertise spanning weed ecology, soil health, and sustainable food production. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate at Utah State University, where his research investigates the ecology and management of herbicide-resistant kochia in Utah’s cropping systems. His work combines applied weed science with soil systems research to address pressing challenges in modern agriculture.
Olanrewaju holds an M.S. in Plant Science from the University of Idaho, where he worked on enhancing wheat and barley systems for resilience and productivity, and a B.S. in Agriculture from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Nigeria, where he was awarded a full merit-based scholarship. His international and cross-disciplinary training informs his holistic approach to sustainable agriculture.
He has been recognized with several prestigious honors, including the Bayer Encompass Fellowship, awarded to top graduate researchers by the American Society of Agronomy. He also served on the Western Society of Weed Science Awards Committee, evaluating top-tier nominations alongside senior scientists and professors—an extraordinary role for someone at his career stage.
Passionate about translational research and equitable access to innovation, Olanrewaju mentors students and engages in outreach that empowers underserved communities through science-based agricultural solutions.
