Experience & Activities

Seun Oladipo is an environmental scientist and geospatial researcher whose work bridges climate adaptation, forest and urban ecology, and spatial decision-support systems. Seun has contributed to research on CO₂ sink potential in the Canary Islands, sustainable transport futures for island communities (in Greece, Iceland, and the Netherlands), and geospatial approaches to reconstructing lost plant communities. His publications span forest ecology, renewable energy, and environmental assessment. His works have been accepted in several international conferences, including the Society of American Foresters Conference (United States of America, 2024), the Clean Energy for EU Islands Forum (Italy, 2024), and the 2nd African Forum on Urban Forests (South Africa, 2025).
Beyond research, Seun is engaged in community development, environmental stewardship, and youth advocacy. As a long-standing volunteer with the Edenworld Initiative, he has supported tree-planting campaigns that have contributed to the planting of over 5,000 trees. During his national service year, he founded Drug-Free Clubs in three secondary schools in Anambra State, Nigeria, thereby advancing youth health education and substance abuse prevention. As a student legislator at the Federal University of Technology, Akure, he co-sponsored Operation Feed Futarians, which provided meals to over 1,000 students, thereby strengthening campus welfare during periods of hardship. Seun is also an active digital volunteer with Google as a Level 8 Local Guide, adding thousands of data contributions to locations, reviews, and roads across Africa, Asia, and Europe to improve digital mapping and local accessibility.
